Kakki Dam


Kakki dam was built in 1966 as a part of the Sabarigiri Hydroelectric project. Kakki reservoir, a tributary to Pamba River is located in the Pathanamthitta district. The reservoir is a by product of the Kakki and Anathode dams. The reservoir can hold water up to 981.45 meters above the sea level to reach full capacity. The dam and reservoir is a popular tourist spot and lies very close to the Pathanamthitta forest and Western Ghats. People can explore the dam and surroundings on the way from Pathanamthitta to Gavi, the beautiful and pristine forest retreat. The distance from Pathanamthitta to Kakki dam is 11 km.
